Welcome to the 2017 Medical Student Research Day

About MSRD 2017

Welcome to the 31st annual University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine, Medical Student Research Day (MSRD)! MSRD is a 1-day conference that showcases research projects undertaken by University of Toronto medical students. Each year MSRD will be showcasing more than 150 posters across many different research categories. The diversity of research fields will range from basic science and clinical medicine disciplines to topics related to health services, medical education, public health policy and global health.

All UofT undergraduate medical students are invited to present any of their research work accomplished in the past year, whether or not they participated in a CREMS program.
MSRD-2017 also invites all first-year students who have performed research in the last 12 months prior to entering medical school to present their work as a poster.
ALL students who participated in the following programs in 2016 are *REQUIRED* to submit an abstract and to present at this event:
• CREMS Research Scholar Program (2015 and 2016)
• CREMS Summer Research Program
• MAA-CREMS International Health Summer Research Program
• MAA-CREMS Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences
• MAA-CREMS Research in the History of Medicine

Benefits of Participating in MSRD 2017

Abstracts will be published in the University of Toronto Medical Journal (UTMJ). A select number of students will be invited to showcase their research as part of the oral presentation component of MSRD 2017. These students will be selected after peer-review to represent the best abstracts in their respective categories. Chosen based on the merit, quality and innovation, the oral presentations are one of the highlights of the day. Students selected for oral presentations and the top student in each of the poster categories (after judging) will receive an award.
